If you’re done with your time at LA Fitness, that is completely understandable. Whether you’ve been there for years or have only just gotten started, you may be thinking that it’s time to move on.
Luckily, canceling your membership is pretty straightforward, and shouldn’t take up too much of your time. You can cancel in person, by letter, on the phone, or through email.
This article is going to give you all the information you need when it comes to canceling your LA fitness membership so that you know exactly how to go about it.
What is LA Fitness Cancellation policy?
The LA Fitness cancellation policy requires customers to process their cancellation within 5 days of the next payment that’s due. If you cancel any later than this, you will be charged for the next month.
Other than that, LA Fitness doesn’t really have a big cancellation policy. You can cancel whenever you want through whatever method you want, and they are fine with it. If you want to make sure you don’t get billed for the next month, you just have to remember to cancel at least 5 days before that payment.
How do you manually cancel your LA Fitness account?
If you want to cancel LA Fitness manually, you have 3 options: In person, through mail, or on the phone. We will walk you through all of these options right now.
Canceling your membership in person is probably one of the easiest methods, as long as there is time in your day for it. Just print out the cancellation form at home, fill it out, and bring it to your nearest LA Fitness. If you can’t print the form, you can also just get one from them when you arrive.
This way is great because the cancellation is almost immediate once you fill out the form, and the person working is there to assist you with any questions you might have.
If you don’t have the time to go to LA Fitness in person, you might be more interested in canceling by letter. In order to get the cancellation form that’s needed, you will have to go online and print it out. Here’s the whole process:
- Log into your account on their website
- Click on “My LA Fitness”
- Go to “Account Information” and select “Cancellation Form”
- Print the form out
- Once you’ve completed the form, send it in the mail to this PO Box:
PO Box 54170
Irvine, CA 92619-4170
Once this is complete, it should take a couple days for the letter to get there. After these few days, you should call customer service and ensure that your membership was canceled.
In order to cancel by phone, you have to call customer service for LA Fitness (949-255-7200). Ask to speak with a customer service representative, and once you have them on the phone you can tell them that you wish to cancel your membership.
They should help you with everything from there, and they can cancel your subscription for you.
Is there a way to cancel your subscription to LA Fitness online?
As of right now, there isn’t a way to cancel your LA Fitness membership through anywhere on their website. However, if you want to do it completely online, you can email them and get it canceled this way. It will take a little longer than the other methods, but it is an easy option if you don’t mind the wait.
Simply email email@example.com. Then, ask if you can cancel your membership. You should give them the following details in order to be as swift as possible: Your entire name, birth date, email, phone number, billing address, home gym address, and credit card’s LAST FOUR numbers.
Is there a fee to cancel LA Fitness?
There should not be a fee when you cancel your membership. The only thing that might happen is you could get charged for the next payment if you turn the cancellation form in too late. However, this is usually able to be refunded if you ask.
If you’re canceling a membership with a personal trainer, this could be a different story. You will get a spreadsheet that lays out all of the fees you may owe upon canceling with your personal trainer. In order to get all the details on this, you should talk to someone at your local LA Fitness.
Just know that if you have a normal LA Fitness membership with no extra classes added, there isn’t any need to worry about cancellation fees.
Can I pause instead of canceling my LA Fitness subscription?
There are ways to pause the LA Fitness subscription, but it depends on what kind of membership you have. Usually, pausing your subscription will come with a smaller fee.
If you’re a full member, your account can be paused for up to 6 months for a $35 fee. If you only subscribe monthly, you can pay $10 to pause your subscription for 1 month. Lastly, members in Kid Club can have their accounts paused without paying a fee.
If you pay weekly, you’re out of luck when it comes to pausing your account. There is no option to do so, and if you want to stop paying you will have to cancel the subscription altogether.
Can I get a refund when I cancel my LA Fitness gym membership?
LA Fitness has a no-refund policy, and they will not refund you for any payments you made prior to canceling your gym membership.
However, there is one exception. If they receive a cancellation form less than 5 days before the next billing cycle, they will most likely charge you one more time. If this happens, you are able to request a refund, and they will usually honor this as long as they were notified of the cancellation before the payment was due.
Can I cancel my LA Fitness membership anytime?
LA Fitness has no real policies when it comes to canceling, and you are free to cancel your membership at any time. There are no repercussions for doing this, so whether you just started your membership or have been an LA Fitness member for years, you can cancel whenever you want.
Will my free trial auto-renew into a paid subscription?
The only way you can get a free trial of LA Fitness is if you go through the process of getting a guest pass for 3 or 5 days. This process takes time, but they shouldn’t ask for any credit card information. This means that they won’t auto renew your free trial, and you will have to manually open an account if you are interested in doing so.
But it’s good to know that you won’t have to do any canceling once your free trial has ended.
Canceling your LA Fitness subscription isn’t too hard, and there are a ton of methods to choose from so that you can decide what works best for you.
Hopefully this article has given you a bit more insight so that you can now feel confident when canceling your LA Fitness membership. Good luck!
