Walmart is the giant name in the retail industry. It is running its operations in about 27 countries through thousands of its stores. We all shop at Walmart almost daily either visiting their store or the website. Being such a giant, does Walmart accept Samsung Pay too?
They accept multiple payment options, you can pay via your credit card, debit card, cash at the store, or through gift cards.
They have launched their own mode of digital payment back in 2015 known as Walmart Pay. Since then, they accept online wallet payments through Walmart Pay only.
Samsung Pay, Google Pay, or Apple Pay are not accepted as a form of payment at Walmart as they have their own online wallet – Walmart Pay.
How does Walmart Pay Work?
In 2015, since they launched their digital wallet to ease the process of paying digitally, Walmart Pay has become so handy that now almost 40 million people use it to pay at Walmart daily!
It is compatible with both the platforms – Android as well as IOS.
What Walmart Pay can’t do?
It does fall short in some circumstances though. You won’t be able to use it at the Walmart Fuel pumps and gas stations at Murphy USA. This is where all other digital payment gateways come into handy like Samsung or Google Pay.
Samsung Pay
Samsung Pay is a digital payment and wallet service launched by Samsung Electronics in 2015. Samsung Pay is the brainchild of the company that is aimed at competing Apple Pay and other digital wallets in the market.
Samsung Pay is based on using contactless payments using NFC, but also supports magnetic stripe–only payment services by using MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technology. In countries like India, it also supports bill payments.
Samsung states that Samsung Pay is much safer than Google Pay and Apple Pay since it stores an encrypted version of the card instead of the actual card number.
How Samsung Pay competes with Apple Pay and Google Pay?
Samsung Pay takes very less time in completing the transaction as compared with Apple Pay and Google Pay, due to MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) technology. Other payment apps such as Google Pay and Apple Pay only use NFC technology.
