What Is The Sling TV Cancellation Policy?

Sling TV does not offer a refund policy. If you have a free trial, then the subscription will be canceled instantly. If you have paid for your Sling TV subscription, then the subscription will be canceled on the next billing date.

If you consult this chart, you will get an idea as to when your membership will end, based upon when you cancel the subscription and the type of membership that you have.

Membership TypeWhen Membership is Canceled
Free TrialInstantly
30-Day Billing CycleOn the next billing date
Multi-Month PurchaseAt the end of the prepaid months

Remember, you are not tied into any contracts with Sling TV. This means that you are free to cancel the subscription whenever you want. Of course, Sling TV will do its best to ensure that you do not cancel. They will try and convince you to stay! However, they aren’t going to hide the cancellation options.

You are able to cancel your subscription up until the day before renewal. So, for example, if your subscription is set to renew on 31st May, then you cancel any day up to, and including, the 30th May. If you leave it until the 31st May, then you will be charged. You will not get a refund for this.

How To Cancel Sling TV

For the most part, you should be able to cancel Sling TV using their website. So, try that method below first. If you don’t see your subscription there (or don’t know the name of your Sling TV account), then move on to the method for your device.

On The Website

The easiest method for canceling your Sling TV subscription is via their website. You must have your username (email address) and password to cancel the membership using this method:

  1. Head to the Sling TV website
  2. Select ‘Login’
  3. Click ‘My Account’
  4. Look for your subscription and click ‘Cancel’
  5. Confirm the cancelation

At the end of the process, you should receive an email saying that your subscription is canceled. If you don’t receive this is an hour or two, then go back and double-check that you have properly canceled.

Roku TV

If you have managed to get your subscription through your Roku TV, then you will not be able to use the website. Instead, you will need to follow this process:

  1. Press the HOME button on your remote control.
  2. Find ‘Channel Store’
  3. Select ‘Sling TV’
  4. Click ‘Manage Subscription’
  5. Click ‘Cancel Subscription’

You should receive a visual confirmation on your screen that the Roku TV subscription has been canceled.

Apple TV

If you have purchased Sling through Apple TV, then your best option is to either cancel through the Apple website or on your iOS device. You can follow these steps (assuming you are using your iOS device):

  2. Sign In
  3. Select Account Settings
  4. Select Subscriptions
  5. Find Sling TV and cancel it.

iOS

The process for canceling on iOS is exactly the same as if you were canceling using Apple TV, so we won’t go through the process again. Please refer to the previous section.

What we will tell you is that you do not necessarily have to cancel using your Apple device. You can also log in to your Apple account on your PC. You will be able to find a list of all of your subscriptions there. Of course, the easiest method would be to use your iOS device to cancel. It will only take a few minutes.

Android

If you have purchased Sling TV on your Android device, then you will likely have created your account using Google Play. You will not be able to use this account to cancel on the Sling TV website, even though it will give you login details. You must cancel through the Google Play store. You can follow these steps:

  1. Load up Google Play on your Android device or in your web browser, if using a PC.
  2. Login to your account, if not logged in.
  3. Select your profile picture in the right-hand corner.
  4. Find ‘Subscriptions’ on this list.
  5. Find ‘Sling TV’ and cancel.

Google will send you an email to your registered email address to confirm your cancelation. If you do not receive this, then you may want to double-check that you have canceled your Sling TV account.
